As many as four people died and six others were injured after a landslide hit the Ratle hydroelectric project in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Saturday.
"The rescue operation has been completed. A total of four bodies and six injured were rescued," said Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, news agency reported.Earlier, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Sharma said that a rescue team of about 6 persons, deputed to the site after the incident, has also got trapped under the debris.
The Ratle hydro-electric project is a run-of-the-river project proposed on Chenab river in Kisthwar district in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 5281.94 crores as of November 2018. The EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract for the project was awarded on September 18 this year.
